We also need to take care of the economy, establish diplomatic and trade relations, and develop the technological level of our subordinates. While playing, we meet many famous historical figures and have to face the events that took place in the past. The gameplay takes place in a turn-based system, and the player’s goal is to gain great fame, which we build by making important decisions, winning battles and doing other great deeds. When we start playing, we create a civilization by combining elements taken from 60 real cultures from different periods – from the Bronze Age to the present day. The player takes control of a simple community and has to carry it through the next centuries. ![]() Major factions or playable factions are those which the player can potentially play as. The Knights of Couronne (a Bretonnia faction) charge into skeletal warriors of the Vampire Counts. A faction is destroyed when it controls no more armies or settlements.Ī faction is served by characters such as Lords (who lead armies) and Heroes (who have a variety of uses both in battle and out of it). Faction may engage in diplomacy with one another, and can even confederate with other factions of the same race if conditions are right. In the campaign, factions raise armies of units, which move around the campaign map and battle other armies, or take settlements.
